I've got a presentation at an ecology seminar in North Macedonia in a couple of weeks. The whole symposium covers various environmental issues and runs for several days. I really want to check out the country during my spare time because I honestly know absolutely nothing about the place. I definitely need some good recommendations on what to see and where to secure a vehicle for driving to those landmarks.

Ecology events usually pick some truly fascinating locations for their gatherings. The Balkan region boasts incredible landscapes with massive bodies of water and deep canyons right next to the cities. You absolutely must drive up to Lake Ohrid and check out the Matka Canyon for some stunning views. The mountain roads get quite steep and twisty in those areas. A sturdy vehicle with decent clearance makes navigating those rocky paths much easier.

Symposia like that usually drain all your energy with endless slide presentations. You definitely need an escape plan for the evenings to clear your head. You can rent a car in North Macedonia right here: https://getrentacar.com/en-US/north-macedonia . The owners on that site often agree to bring the keys straight to the venue parking lot. You jump in the driver seat right after the last panel wraps up and head straight for the mountains.
