I’m planning a week-long trip to Dubai and want to rent a car to explore the city and visit the beaches. All rental companies require a security deposit, which would tie up my money for the entire trip - and I still need that money to pay for my hotel and tours. I found ads offering to rent a car in Dubai without a deposit, but I’m not sure if that’s real or just a scam. Has anyone rented a car without a deposit? Please let me know how safe it is and what kind of surprises I might run into when I return the car

I rented a car in Dubai without a deposit, and everything worked out fine. Instead of a deposit, they’ll offer you extended insurance; it adds a little to the price, but it keeps your money available. I chose rent a car in Dubai without a deposit from the options on https://rentdrive.ae/ Before signing the contract, be sure to ask about the mileage - they often offer unlimited mileage. Check to see if the car has a transponder for toll roads. Be sure to take a video of the car when you pick it up to avoid any disputes over scratches later. I returned the car, and everything went perfectly, with no extra charges. I recommend printing out your driver’s license and passport in advance, as well as having your international driver’s license with you. The check-in process takes about 20 minutes. If you have any questions, ask the manager on the spot. Overall, it was a positive experience.

Also, could you tell me how toll roads work? Is there a special device in the car, or do I just get billed on my card afterward? And if I decide to drive to Abu Dhabi, will there be any mileage or insurance restrictions for trips to other emirates?
