How do you swap ETH from Linea to Ethereum?
-
Hey guys, running into an issue here. Only recently started getting paid in crypto, and even then only because one client had no other way to pay me so I had to figure out how to set up an Ethereum wallet. Then another client said he'd pay in ETH but on Linea, mentioned it's easy to exchange after. Got the payment fine but can't figure out how to actually do that. There's no "send funds to another wallet" option or anything like that in the wallet. How do you guys usually handle moving from one to the other?

You can't really just swap from Linea to Ethereum directly. They're on different layers so there's no straight exchange between them. What I usually do is hit up an exchange and look for offers from OTC traders. They have you send from your same-layer wallet to theirs and then they push it to whatever wallet you give them. Yeah there's a fee but it's not crazy high across the board.

The OTC route works but there's actually a cleaner way to handle this without hunting down traders. Linea has a native bridge that moves ETH straight over to Ethereum without needing a middleman. You can use this bridge, for example: https://defiway.com/bridges/bridge-eth-linea-ethereum . You just connect your wallet, punch in the amount and it does the rest. Fees are pretty reasonable and you're not waiting on some random trader to forward your funds.
