There are two common types of therapy used for sleep apnea and other sleep and respiratory conditions: CPAP and BiPAP. For most people with OSA (Obstructive Sleep Apnea), the most common treatment is CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) which provides a constant pressure of air to keep the airway open while you sleep. BiPAP (Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure) will have two pressure levels; one for inhale and the other for exhale pressure, while giving additional comfort for patients with severe sleep apnea, COPD, or other breathing disorder. Your doctor will recommend you the appropriate machine, which is either CPAP or BiPAP, based on your diagnosis, breathing needs, and your doctor's recommendations. Modern devices come with advanced features like heated humidification, quiet operation, automatic pressure adjustment, and treatment data tracking to enhance treatment efficacy. CPAP or BiPAP therapy, when properly diagnosed and used, can help patients with respiratory disorders get a better night's rest, feel less drowsy during the day, breathe normally and enjoy a better life.
